1.2.1.05 Jobseeker payment (JSP) – description
What is JSP?
JSP is the working age payment that changed NSA from 20 March 2020.
JSP is an earnings assistance payment that offers financial assistance to people aged 22 years to age pension age who have capability to work now or employment in the near future and prepared to satisfy mutual commitment requirements.
JSP will consist of access for individuals who have temporarily quit working or studying to recover from a health problem or injury however who have a task or research study to return to. When the incapacity ends, and unless excused from shared obligations requirements (3.11.5), a recipient must:
– take part in or employment be willing to take part in authorized activities, and/or task search, and
– be prepared to participate in, abide by or differ an existing Job Plan to fulfil the mutual obligation requirements (3.11 ).
How is JSP entitlement identified?
JSP is computed on an everyday basis and is paid in defaults, usually in instalments of 2 week. Instalment durations of less than 2 week might be paid where an individual modifications their payday arrangements.

Supplementary support
Recipients receiving JSP MAY likewise receive several of the following as part of their JSP rate:
– lease support (1.2.7.10).
– energy supplement (1.2.7.50).
– pharmaceutical allowance (1.2.7.20).
– remote location allowance (1.2.7.80).
– approved program of work supplement (1.2.7.180).
They MAY likewise be entitled to the following while in invoice of JSP:
– telephone allowance (1.2.7.70).
HCC (1.2.8.10) or PCC (1.2.8.20).
LLNS (1.2.7.110) if carrying out training through the Skills for employment Education and Employment Program.

JSP was introduced on 20 March 2020. The following payments gradually ceased as part of the creation of JSP:
– NSA (1.2.1.10) (ceased on 20 March 2020).
SA (1.2.5.30) (closed to new receivers on 20 March 2020 and stopped on 20 September 2020).
BVA (near brand-new recipients on 20 March 2020 and stopped when all existing recipients finished their bereavement duration).
WA (1.2.3.30) (near new receivers on 1 July 2018 and ceased on 1 January 2022).
WP (1.2.3.20) (closed to new recipients on 1 July 1995 ceased on 20 March 2020).
PA (1.2.2.10) (near to brand-new recipients on 20 September 2003 ceased on 1 January 2022).
