Applications are welcomed from Indian nationals coming from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under unique recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Technology and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.

Several Departments also participate in the mentor and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the pertinent departments among those listed above.

Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in regards to grades, etc) at the preceding degree in the suitable branch, with an excellent academic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for referall.us the very first three years, and can be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, regular consultation can be made.

The Institute follows appointment in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The present special drive ad is to fill 56 backlog jobs in reserved classifications till 31st December 2024.

Other info:

1. The pay carries all other allowances as acceptable to a Central Government employee stationed at Kanpur.

2. The benefits, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, kids education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone expenses, book grants, HRA (if housing not offered), research initiation grant (approximately Rs 25 lakhs with the arrangement to get an additional grant) and financial backing towards national and global conferences will be permitted as per the Institute standards.

3. From its internal resources, the Institute offers an additional top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- each month for the first 3 years of service to the freshly joined professor. After 3 years of service, the professor(s) are eligible for factor to consider for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for professors of age upto 40 years) offering a top-up wage of Rs.15,000/- each month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions supplying a top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- each month for 3 years. Both the are provided based upon efficiency.

4. Traveling allowance for signing up with: The Institute will reimburse worldwide travel expenditures for the freshly signed up with professor and dependent family members to the optimum limit of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel reimbursement will be based on government guidelines.

5. The Institute strives to provide real estate to all professors members. The homes are equipped with free high-speed internet.

6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a candidate for being called for interview.

7. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum experience requirements might be offered a consultation on contract. The requirements of minimum qualification and/or experience might be unwinded when it comes to candidates with impressive qualifications.

8. The Institute follows the booking in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The prospects are needed to send the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate released by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this function. 11. Applicants required and appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the shortest path (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please note that the amount of fare will be through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be looked after by the Institute.

12. Applicants who are used in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their company at the time of the interview.
